The victim of a bungled police operation above a Fitzroy bookshop on the weekend is expected to launch legal action after what’s believed to be a case of mistaken identity left the man with serious injuries.

Two state ministers joined gay rights advocates to condemn the violent arrest of Nik Dimopoulos, who had his arm broken in several places after he was thrown to the pavement and restrained during a police raid in the early hours of Saturday morning.
